💡 Spotlight on: Doxa – X Ray Collection

The thing that strikes you when you pick up a Doxa tee or pair of shorts for the first time, is that this brand lives and breathes running.

Doxa founder John Hansen is a life-long competitive runner with a professional background in fashion. When he started the brand in 2015 he set out to merge high-end fashion with technical running apparel, inspired by the idea of adaptable products that could withstand the notoriously transitory climate of his native Scandinavia.

The supreme quality of Doxa’s apparel embodies the high standards that John has set in both his running and design:

“Running has been part of my life ever since my mom rode her bicycle next to me on country roads to keep angry farm dogs away. Whenever I run, I enter a space where time stands still. It’s just me, my legs, and the sound of my breath. Running is my way to clear my head and find perspective on life.  And I won’t accept gear that doesn’t work as hard I do.”

The X-Ray running collection perfectly illustrates Doxa’s thoughtful combination of high-end style and performance technology. Made in Italy, the lightweight bi-elastic material is breathable and quick-dry, whilst Doxa’s use of flat seams ensure that rubbing and chafing is minimised.

The crisp design is eye-catching and urban, and has quickly become a firm favourite amongst the team at TAK. The fact that the material has been sustainably sourced from recycled plastic bottles is one of many reasons why Doxa has generated such a cult following.

The ethical arm of the company is just as ambitious as its design. Doxa supports the Swedish NGO Global Relations, by providing running gear to the Kenswed Academy in Nairobi, Kenya. Global Relations collaborated with the Kenyan marathon runner Isaac Macharia to establish the academy, which gives youngsters from the nearby slums a safe haven for education and training.

Amongst these students are keen and talented runners, dreaming of participating on a global stage but held back by economic misfortune. Doxa supports this group by donating running apparel each season, enabling them to keep their dream alive.

There are so many reasons to love this stylish and ambitious Scandi brand.
